Never Think...Ride the Birthday Blog Train

Never Think

I remember the first time I heard this song. I don't recall the day of the week, the weather, what I was wearing or any inconsequential details. What I remember is the powerful emotion this song yanked out of my heart. I had to hear it again. Again. AGAIN.

Rob has an absolutely, hauntingly beautiful singing voice. He invokes a raw, soulful sentiment in this song. The lyrics are heart wrenching. It is passionate and melancholy at the same time. I have listened to Never Think countless times (literally) since that day, and I have not tired of it. In fact it seems to grip me even tighter as the days go by.

When he sings "Cause without me...you got it all..." I feel like he has looked into my life. I have felt that way so often, and the power behind those words just fucking undoes me...everytime.

I should never think

What's in your heart

What's in our home

So I won't

You'll learn to hate me

But still call me baby

Oh love

So call me by my name

And save your soul

Save your soul

Before you're too far gone

Before nothing can be done

 I'll try to decide when

She'll lie in the end

I ain't got no fight in me

In this whole damn world

So you hold off

She should hold off

It's the one thing that I've known

Once I put my coat on

I'm coming out in this all wrong

She standing outside holding me

Saying oh please

I'm in love

I'm in love

Girl save your soul

Go on save your soul

Before it's too far gone

And before nothing can be done

Cause without me

You got it all

So hold on

Without me you got it all

So hold on

Without me you got it all

Without me you got it all

So hold on

Without me you got it all

So hold on

Without me you got it all

So hold on

Rob,

Thank you.

xoxo

  4. Choo choo! Lovely - thanks for the lyrics. I can't always listen to the videos (computer fail, TH watching other stuff, work...), so I appreciate being able to read along!

  5. I never knew the lyrics so added bonus for me to see how fitting they were for Edward. Thanks! I listen to this every day in my car at least once, sometimes more, because my daughter requests to hear it.

  6. LOVED this post! I melt when he croons, "you'll learn to hate me" - guh.

  7. I never read the lyrics before, and it's hard to understand them while Rob is singing them, so thanks for that. Now that song has a totally new meaning for me. It's definitely Twilight.

  8. I love this song too, it's my ringtone on my phonem which unfortunately means I never answer to it as quickly as I should because I want to listen to the song. It can also calm me down no matter what. Even if the kids are being horrendous as soon as the guitar starts on this I can feel myself relaxing a little.

Fab post. Got to go oujt now, I'll try and hop on the rest of the train later!

  12. This song is muy muy importante to me.
It's when I lost my Robs-Music-Virginity. yes thats right. My very first Rob song... *sigh*
    The beginning of a Robsession.
and its not only the voice that's amazing, it's the lyrics that just make you cry/swoon/die/everything else...

  13. Oh, yeah. Rob porn accompanied by Never Think...does it get any better than that? I listened to it (full song) right after the premiere of Twilight and I ran out to buy the soundtrack. I've been in love every since. Definitely the beginning for me. I think I probably fell in love with Let Me Sign right off the bat, in the movie theater, but Never Think was close behind. Ahhhh. Good stuff.

    Great post!!

  16. I don't know how or why I ended up here last, E. It may be because I saved the best for last. I can barely see to type because of the tears. The quietness of this song guts me every time. Like thecoldshower said, this is the song that I lost my Rob-music-virginity to. Nothing can top the first time. It's what pushed me over the edge into Robsanity, as I have said many times.

Not a week goes by without me listening to this song and Let Me Sign (my current ringtone). I couldn't agree with you more - it seems to grip me even tighter as the days go by, too.

I had every intention of learning to play it on the guitar but like everything else, not enough hours in the day.

    XXXOOO
